Haven’t made much music in a while, so I felt I was over due for a musical sketchbook post.
Why post this in a sketchbook blog? Music comes in sketches too, dummy. I’d love to have an orchestra in some back room to do my bidding, but that never panned out -so synthesizers and samples, drum machines and sound effects will have to suffice for now. After all, I grew up with videogames and cartoons from the 80s and 90s. Synthesizers are okay now right? I don’t take it too seriously, at least I don’t think you should shy away from being silly with music, adding a few Casio-esque beats and silly synths.
All part of the Sonic Jigglebath project: music for videogames you wish existed.
This piece is about a bad-ass space man who is the size of your thumb. The universe is even bigger when you’re little, but he fights space-crime like he’s 6-foot four.
Still room for improvement, but it’s getting there.
